This wonderful executive year-round home is a lovingly tended, custom-built post and beam beauty with panoramic windows looking down to the lake from both levels. It sleeps 12 in 4 bedrooms plus a large family room with a pull-out sofa. Beds are one king, two queens, and one bed-sofa, along with a set of bunk beds in each of two rooms. Two masonry fireplaces.
Miskwabi Lake is one of the most sought-after lakes in the Haliburton area. This large lake is deep and clean, with good fishing year round, and is part of a two-lake chain with Long Lake, stretching for seven km. The property is two acres of forest and gardens. The shoreline has 200 ft. of shallow sandy beach area with gradual entry suitable for small children and wading. For sun tanning, there is an expansive sun-deck over the water. For deeper water and diving, there is a separate 60 ft. dock. Exposure is to the south, keeping the property and the home sunny and bright all day. Use of a (classic red) canoe, a large 4 person paddleboat and a 14 foot aluminum row boat is included. A 9.9 HP motor is available for rent with owner’s approval. Life jackets are not supplied – renters must bring their own (this is an insurance requirement.). An open-concept great room with gourmet kitchen offers a spectacular 180 degree view. A dining room off the great room sits eight. A gorgeous masonry open fireplace is surrounded by a comfy sectional sofa and TV with satellite reception. The lower level study has an airtight masonry fireplace for cozy sleeping and a pull-out sofa with the second TV with DVD, VHS, and video library. Heating is radiant hot water with heated floors for exceptional comfort in winter. Furniture is all premium quality, including a master bedroom with king pillow top mattress. The master suite offers complete privacy on the main floor (kids can hang downstairs in the den, while adults can chill upstairs). The master bathroom has a soaker tub and walk-in shower. The guest bathroom on the lower level is very large with a walk-in shower. Throughout the home, including the bathrooms, are upscale fittings. Renters, please bring your own linen and towels. Plenty of quilts, blankets and pillows are on hand. The open kitchen is gourmet quality with recessed lighting, propane stove, exhaust fan, bar sink, dishwasher, oversized fridge/freezer, a large pantry, an island with seating, and beautiful tableware. Off the kitchen there is a furnished screened-in “vintage” porch. Enjoy the wide exterior deck off the great room with its child-safe doors and glass enclosures, and a propane BBQ on the upper deck. No need to fill tanks: it is hooked directly to the propane source. The laundry room has a high-efficiency washer and dryer, and a deep sink.
