Seemingly endless waterways with a wide variety of depths for all types of fishing and sports. Take a cruise down the Madawaska River on the Maggie or rent a boat for the day or week and go fishing on Kamaniskeg Lake a hidden gem. Take the canoe out ( we supply the paddles too) and wander the beautiful shoreline at your own pace. This home has a sandbar extending out hundreds of feet with water depth at about 3 1/2- 4' in front of the cottage - great for children! Venture out 300-400' or so and the depth drops about 100'! Loads of secret bays and inlets to explore. This home has 4 bedrooms. The two master bedrooms are attached to ensuites. There is a children's room with beautiful wood bunk beds. The fourth bedroom (loft) sits high overlooking the grand room with 20 foot high Cathedral ceilings and its own private balcony. This home sleeps eight perfectly. Two queens and four singles. However, there is lots of room for others. There is an extra wide sofa. And there's plenty of room in the loft, library or second family room for several air mattress without going into the main living space. Max 10 adults or 12 with children - check if extra charge applies The first bathroom is completed in marble and handcrafted ash cabinetry with under mounted circle sink and a very large soaker tub with forest views. The second bathroom has an enormous shower or "room" with a rain showerhead and a seat in slate and granite- everyone says it's the best shower they have ever had! The maple kitchen has a smoke-free, air-tight wood stove for chilly nights and is fully equipped gourmet kitchen with black appliances including smooth top self-cleaning convection range, super large fridge, dishwasher and extra bar fridge. Everything that you would expect at home - 4-slice toaster, blender coffee maker, kettle, coffee maker, pots and pans, wine glasses and dish service for 20 people. The eating area is enormous and surrounded by windows with full forest views and double doors leading to the deck. The kitchen table is a large square with seating for eight- or nine (one bench). There is another small table with seating for two in the kitchen as well beside a window where deer have been spotted in the past and is overlooking a rock wall garden. There is a laundry room on main floor. The screened porch goes out to the cedar deck with double doors and has cathedral ceilings, a concrete floor, table, chairs, rocker etc. It's a great place for escaping, enjoying a cigar, hanging out, reading - bug- bird-tree and flower identification books are at hand or playing one of the games provided- backgammon, chess, checkers, scrabble, Mexican train, cards or chose from many others...Sometimes I bring in a piece of milkweed and let the monarch butterflies use the room for hatching so please let them out if you see one! The great room has a soaring roofline making you feel like you are in a tree house and really a part of the forest. The windows face and have a commanding view of the lake on a west angle. Tastefully decorated there is an extra wide sofa, Caribbean leather chair with ottoman, swivel chair, elephant chair, huge granite coffee table, small games table, buffet and lovely artwork from around the world. Bell Expressvu, DVD player (movie rental about 10-15min away) cd player and radio. Enjoy the high-powered telescope for star gazing and learn about the stars in the books supplied. This is an open concept home and the kitchen eating area is beside the great room. There is another family room complete with leather sofas and two cozy chairs with tables. This huge area has a funky marble floors which are great for dancing AND FOOSBALL! There is another living room with two love seats and a table with chairs and four huge windows with forest views. There are lots of separate living areas to have private time in this home or on a rainy day. Come and explore the Madawaska Valleys playground! Rock hound for your own gemstones and minerals, ATV rentals in the mountains, fishing- all year round, the market in Combermere, the jumping bridge, go for ice cream at the parlour in Combermere, stop at the (no trans) fish and chip truck, spa on the bay, dock at the bar for a light lunch, dinner or listen to a band at the Bent Anchor, golf in Barrys Bay or the in the mountains at the homestead course in Wilno, have a night out at Fortune's- local or the Wilno Tavern homemade polish fare, take a scenic drive to spectacle lake lodge for Sunday brunch, visit the crooked slide park for a walk or to play in the running water, go shopping at Grumbling Grannies or visit Madonna house.
